Battle Room

SAT practice that actually feels like a competition.

You and your friends answer the same real SAT questions at the same time. The leaderboard moves under you. Speed helps a little — knowing the answer helps a lot. Afterwards, everyone sees exactly where they went wrong.

How a round works
1

Someone hosts, shares a code

The host picks a mode (Blitz, Deep Dive, Topic Duel, or a full SAT section), sets the question count, and optionally adds bots at a target score level. Everyone else joins with the 5-character room code — free to join, no Pro needed.

2

Questions hit everyone at once

When the host starts, a 3-second countdown fires and then the questions begin. Everyone in the room sees the same question at the same time. Answer choices are shuffled differently for each player, so "it's B" in the group chat is useless.

3

Points for accuracy, a small bonus for speed

Harder questions pay more. Answer correctly on a streak and a multiplier kicks in. Speed adds up to 15% on top — but only if your answer time is realistic. Answering faster than anyone can read the question pays nothing.

Hard correct + 3-streak: +340 pts  ·  Hard wrong: 0 pts (or −25 in Hardcore mode)
4

Live leaderboard between questions

After each answer the sidebar updates. You can see who's ahead, by how much, and who's on a streak. The leaderboard is visible throughout the game — it's the whole point.

5

Final standings, then the review

When the last question is answered, the room sees final scores. Then a full review opens: every question you missed with its explanation, the one question the whole room struggled with most, and a topic breakdown. That review is what actually moves the needle — the competition just makes you care about it.

Rules worth knowing

Server-verified timing

Every answer is timed and validated on the server. A modified client can't fake speed, skip questions, or change IDs.

Shuffled choices, per player

A, B, C, D are reassigned randomly for each person. Sharing answers in the group chat does nothing.

Wrong answers can cost you

Default mode has no penalty. Hosts can enable Hardcore — −25 points per wrong answer, which changes how you play.

Power-ups (optional)

Hosts can enable two: Shield blocks one wrong-answer penalty. Double Down bets double on your next answer — win or lose.

Every run becomes a ghost

After you finish, your run is saved. You can race it any time — same questions, same pace, your past self as the opponent.

Hosting is Pro, joining is free

Any registered user can join a room and play the full game. Only the person creating the room needs a Pro subscription.

Game modes
Blitz 10 questions, short answer windows. Fast. Good for a quick session between study blocks.
Deep Dive 20 questions, no speed bonus — pure accuracy. Points only come from getting it right.
Topic Duel 12 questions on a single topic. Good for drilling a specific weak area against someone at a similar level.
SAT Simulation A full section at real SAT length and pacing. Closest to the actual test, with the same time pressure.
